New to livestock insurance? For any policy type you are interested in selling/servicing in the 2025 reinsurance year, you need to take the corresponding three-hour training course. For example, if you want to sell LRP and DRP in 2025, you will need to take the three-hour LRP training and the three-hour DRP training. Following completion of each, you will also need to take the corresponding exam (all exams are available in Saba).

Didn’t sell livestock in 2024, but want to sell again in 2025? Please register for the three-hour training corresponding to the policy type(s) you will sell/service. If you are selling more than one policy type, make sure to register for each corresponding three-hour training. Reach out to our Agency Services team (AgAgencySvs@sompo-intl.com) to see if you need to take any livestock exams.

Sold livestock policies in 2024? You want to register for our Experienced Livestock Agent course. This course provides one hour of information on each policy type, including updates for 2025. Reach out to our Agency Services team (AgAgencySvs@sompo-intl.com) to see if you need to take any livestock exams.

New Agent Fundamentals

New Agent Fundamentals Webinar - Register

This course offers the 12 hours required by the RMA for an individual to become licensed as a crop insurance agent. Individuals must take all four sessions (three hours each), but can pick and choose session dates as their schedule allows. It is recommended to take them in order. Experienced agents can also take the course as a refresher and receive State CE hours.

These sessions are interactive and provide real-life examples of situations agents may face. Updated New Agent Fundamental courses will be available through Saba in February.

Session I – Intro to Crop Insurance, Types of Crop Insurance, and an Overview of the RMA.

Session II – Policy Application including documents required, entities & SBIs, and written agreements. Premiums and subsidies are covered, as well.

Session III – Unit structure, Actual Production History, Yield Adjustment, and Production Reporting.

Session IV – All about acreage – acreage types, reports, different types of planting, and revised acreage reports. The claims process is also presented.

Available six times in 2024; see registration page for details.
